Woman issued $1,000 fine for failing to abide by the Public Health Act

A woman has been issued a $1,000 fine for failing to abide by the Public Health Act in Souris, PEI.

On November 7, 2021, the Kings District RCMP responded to a call for assistance at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex. A woman refused to provide proof of vaccination and declined to leave the premises.

She was charged and fined $1,000 for failing to comply with the Public Health Act.

The PEI RCMP would like to remind the public that under the current Public Health Act, government-issued proof of vaccination is required to access some businesses, venues and services.
