52-year-old man arrested for impaired driving

A 52-year-old man from Milton Station has been arrested for impaired driving following an incident in Clyde River, PEI.

On March 16, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an unconscious man behind the wheel of a stopped pickup truck on Route 247. Once on scene, police secured the vehicle, which was still in gear, and arrested the driver who showed signs of impairment.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle provided breath samples that confirmed he was over the legal limit. He was also found to be operating the vehicle while his licence was suspended. He was later released and will appear in Charlottetown Provincial Court on April 20. His vehicle was also towed and impounded for 30 days at his expense.

Providing as much information as possible regarding the vehicle, driver, location, and direction of travel can help police get impaired drivers off the road.
