59-year-old man dies following two-vehicle collision

A 59-year-old man from Rogersville has died following a two-vehicle collision in Long Creek, N.B.

On May 3, 2022, at approximately 11:50 a.m., members of the Sussex RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick and Millstream and Coles Island Fire Departments responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10 between an SUV and a dump truck.

Police believe the collision occurred when the driver of the SUV traveling northbound attempted to pass a vehicle and collided with a dump truck traveling southbound. The 59-year-old man, who was the sole occupant of the SUV died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the dump truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital.

An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man's exact cause of death.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
