An 80-year-old woman from Sainte-Rose, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Duguayville.
On December 14 2022, shortly before 3 p.m., members of the Tracadie RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision between two cars on Route 135 in Duguayville. The driver and sole occupant of the first car died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the second car was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the first car failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and was struck by the second car.
Members of the Saint-Isidore Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene. A member of the New Brunswick Coroner's office is assisting with the ongoing investigation, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman's exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
