One arrested in connection with trailer theft

A tip from the public has led to the recovery of a stolen utility trailer in West Devon, PEI.

On May 9, members of the West Prince RCMP responded to a report of a theft of a homemade utility trailer from a home on Route 2. Through the course of the investigation, police received information that resulted in the trailer being located at a home in the Miscouche area on May 18.

On May 18, 2022, a 67-year-old man from Tyne Valley was arrested in connection with the theft. He was released on conditions pending a future court date.

"This is a great example of how the public can help with our investigations, and how we can work together to solve crime in our communities," says Cpl. Andy Cook of the Prince District RCMP. "If you have information about a crime, or that can help an ongoing investigation, call police or Crime Stoppers as soon as you can."

The investigation is continuing.
