On December 12, 2022, at approximately 10:05 am, Dauphin RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 5, just west of Gilbert Plains.
A vehicle going east on Highway 5, crossed the centre line and collided with a semi-truck going west. The driver of the vehicle, a 72-year-old female from the RM of Grandview, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, a 53-year-old male from Dauphin was not injured.
Icy conditions are believed to be a factor in the collision.
