Holyrood RCMP is investigating an armed robbery that occurred shortly after midnight this morning at the Hat Lounge and Eatery on the Conception Bay Highway in Holyrood.
Two masked individuals, one carrying a firearm and the other armed with a knife, entered the business just as it was closing and demanded cash. Suspects departed the business in a white SUV with an undisclosed amount of money, stolen from the cash register, a safe and a number of video lottery terminals (VLTs).
The investigation is continuing. Police ask residents to check for any available surveillance footage that may capture a white SUV traveling along the Conception Bay Highway during that time.
