Two drivers, a 29-year-old all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operator and a 53-year-old man involved in a single-vehicle crash, were arrested this week for impaired driving by Hopedale RCMP.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. on December 7, 2022, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop with an ATV suspecting possible impairment. The operator failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the detachment and provided breath samples that were nearly three times the legal limit.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., on December 8, 2022, Hopedale RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a suspected impaired driver. The driver was located near the scene of the crash and showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit.
Both individuals were released from custody, issued driving licence suspensions and are set to attend court at later dates to answer to charges of impaired driving.
