News release

Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (LCRU) with the assistance of officers from Leduc RCMP General Duty, conducted a four-day crime reduction initiative that targeted offenders with outstanding arrest warrants in the Leduc RCMP Detachment area.

Officers proactively attended multiple residences and arrested offenders on outstanding warrants for a range of Criminal Code offences and Traffic Safety Act offences. In total, there were eighteen individuals arrested resulting in the execution of warrants with a total of 67 charges.

The Leduc RCMP implement crime reductive initiatives to target known offenders and address the root cause of crime in the area. Efforts are being made to target their criminal activities, and hold them accountable before the courts.

"Crime reduction initiatives such as the warrant roundup will continue to form a part of our crime reduction strategy in Leduc and area," says Sgt. Thomas Dimopoulos, LCRU NCO. "People who fail to appear in court, fail to comply with release orders, and people who continue to engage in criminal behaviour should expect to see the police knocking on their door."
