Man arrested in connection with firearm offences

A 64-year-old man has been arrested in connection with firearm offences in Cavendish, PEI.

On July 13, 2022, at approximately 8 p.m., members of the Queens District RCMP responded to a report of a man discharging a firearm at a drone flying near his property. During the investigation, video footage from the drone was obtained by police.

The man who discharged the firearm was arrested at the scene without incident for firearm offences. He was later released pending a future court appearance in in Charlottetown Provincial Court on September 26, 2022. No one was injured during the incident.

The Prince Edward Island RCMP would like to remind the public to always call police for assistance. RCMP would also like to remind everyone that if you are flying a personal drone you must adhere to all of Transport Canada's Regulations.

The investigation is ongoing.
