A 37-year-old man from Abney, PEI, has been arrested following a disturbance involving a weapon in the community.
On April 14, 2022, at approximately 3 a.m., members of the Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon at a residence on Abney Road. When police arrived, a man locked himself inside the residence and refused to cooperate with police.
At approximately 5 a.m., members of the Street Level Drug Unit assisted in arresting a 37-year-old man at the scene. No one was injured during the incident. Subsequent to the arrest, police executed a search warrant at the residence and seized an axe.
The 37-year-old man was later released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in Georgetown Provincial Court on May 12, 2022.
The investigation is ongoing.
