Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU) has charged a man in a drug trafficking investigation in Aylesford.
On March 10, police executed a search warrant at a home on Aylesford Rd. in Aylesford. Police located and safely arrested five people that were in the home. During a search of the residence, police located and seized methamphetamine, hydromorphone, cocaine, mirtazapine, benzodiazepines, unstamped cigarettes, cash, digital scales, cellular phones and three replica firearms.
Michael Wayne Nicholson, 37, of Aylesford, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (6 counts);
- Selling Tobacco Products and Raw Leaf Tobacco;
- Transport Tobacco Without Authorization;
- Possession of Unstamped Tobacco;
- Possession of Tobacco Where Taxes Not Paid;
- Possession of Unmarked Tobacco;
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (3 counts);
- Unsafe Storage of a Firearm;
- Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order
Nicholson has been remanded into custody and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on March 14 at 9:30 a.m.
The other four people that were arrested were later released and will be charged at a later date.
The investigation was assisted by the Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section, Kings District RCMP, Annapolis District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Kentville Police General Investigation Section.
