Update-Powerview RCMP investigate homicide

On October 4, 2022, RCMP arrested and charged an 18-year-old female, from Fort Alexander, with Second Degree Murder & Assault with a Weapon in relation to the June 3, 2022, homicide in Powerview.

She was remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 6, 2022, in Winnipeg.

RCMP Major Crimes Services continue to investigate.


On June 3, 2022, at approximately 8:45 pm, Powerview RCMP responded to a vehicle collision involving two pedestrians, on a trail near Dupont Street, in Powerview-Pine Falls.

A 27-year-old female pedestrian, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both were from the community.

The investigation has determined that a 15-year-old female was driving, and intentionally struck the pedestrians.

The 15-year-old female from Sagkeeng First Nation was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder and Assault with a Weapon. She has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Winnipeg on June 7, 2022.

Powerview RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
