Prince District JFO seize crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone; two arrested

The Prince District Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Drug Unit has arrested two men and seized quantities of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and hydromorphone, as well as weapons and money, in Summerside, PEI.

On April 20, 2022, police arrested two people outside of a business in Summerside as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. During the search of the two men and the vehicle they were travelling in, police seized what is believed to be crystal methamphetamine (56 grams), cocaine (28 grams), and 253 hydromorphone 8mg pills, as well as weapons, money, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A 46-year-old man from the Summerside area was remanded into custody on unrelated matters and is scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court on May 2. A 25-year-old man from the Summerside area was released and will be scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of members of the Prince District RCMP, Summerside Police Services, and Kensington Police Services.

The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs.
