RCMP asking for public’s help following significant theft of fuel from private property

The West District RCMP is asking for the public's help following the theft of a large quantity of fuel in New Denmark, N.B.

On March 7, 2022, members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP received a report of several gas thefts that occurred on a private property on Christensen Road. The thefts are believed to have occurred on February 6.

Police are releasing video surveillance photos and information about each theft. They hope that despite the quality of the images, information from the public may help identify the individuals or provide additional information to help the investigation.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., an SUV was seen driving onto the property. At approximately 5:30 a.m., a dark pickup truck was seen driving onto the property with a large container in the bed of the truck. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a car believed to be a Honda Civic was seen driving onto the property with a female occupant. In total, over 1000 litres of gasoline and 800 litres of diesel were stolen during the three incidents.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicles in the photos, the individual, or who has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the Saint-Léonard RCMP at 506-473-3137.
