RCMP investigates serious collision on Hwy. 12

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a serious collision involving a cyclist in New Ross.

On December 3, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Hwy. 12 in New Ross. RCMP officers learned that a Chevrolet Silverado and a cyclist were travelling in the same direction on the highway when they collided.

The cyclist, a 27-year-old Lunenburg County man, suffered life threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital by LifeFlight.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, an 83-year-old Midville Branch man, was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing.
