RCMP NL concludes investigation into double shooting in Harris Point

The investigation of the double shooting in Harris Point by the RCMP NL Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has concluded.

Shortly after midnight on April 4, Gander RCMP received a report indicating that a man and a woman were injured from gun shot wounds. Both were transported to hospital with life threatening injuries and died as a result of the shootings. The investigation showed that the man, in his thirties, was responsible for the death of the woman, who was in her twenties, and that he died as a result of self-inflicted wounds.

The RCMP extends its deepest condolences to the families and community during this difficult time.
