Saskatchewan RCMP – Your Provincial Police Service

  • The Musical Ride is currently on tour in Saskatchewan. This troop of up to 32 riders, all police officers, and their horses perform intricate formations and drills set to music, requiring the utmost control, timing and coordination. Have you seen the iconic Musical Ride? You still have a chance – it will be in Strasbourg June 23 and in Moose Jaw June 24 to 26. Details are available here. Investigative Recap

  • June 13: Carlyle RCMP notifying the public about recent sexual assault

  • June 14: At approximately 2:15 a.m. Nipawin RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a residence in the Lucille Crescent area in Nipawin. Investigation determined the occupants woke up and found an unknown male in the residence, who then fled. Officers immediately responded and located the male approximately 10 minutes later. Ricky Young, 43, of Nipawin, SK is charged with one count of break and enter to commit mischief, Section 348(1), Criminal Code. He will appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on August 3, 2022.

  • June 14: At approximately 12:30 p.m., Tisdale RCMP received a report that a house (yes, a house), which was on a trailer for transport purposes, was stolen from Crooked River between midnight and 12:30 p.m. that day. Investigation determined an altercation occurred between an adult male and the house's owner the day after the house theft. The house has not been recovered. If you see it or know where it is, contact the Tisdale RCMP at 306-878-3810. A photo of the house is attached.

    Matthew Malley, 32, from Codette, SK was arrested and charged with one count, theft under $5,000, Section 334(b), Criminal Code, one count, uttering threats, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code and one count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code. He will appear in Melfort Provincial Court on July 18, 2022.

  • June 15: Shortly before 11:30 p.m., White Butte RCMP received a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway #10, approximately 10 km north of Balgonie. Initial investigation has determined a southbound vehicle was driving in the northbound lane shortly before the collision occurred. A 25-year-old female from the Fort Qu'Appelle area was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. An adult female was transported to hospital in Regina by STARS. The investigation is ongoing.

  • June 15: At approximately 8:40 p.m., La Loche RCMP received a report of a person with a firearm in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle shortly after. They located and seized a firearm, approximately 27 grams of cocaine and about 26 medication tablets. Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested. Brayden Javier, 23, Braden Laprise, 21, and Ryan Park, 19, all from La Loche were each charged with one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, one count, possession of the proceeds of crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code and one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code. Janvier was also charged with one count, fail to comply with undertaking condition, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code. They will appear in court in La Loche on June 20.

  • June 16: Southey RCMP investigating sexual assault

  • June 16: Southey RCMP charge two, seize firearms and drugs including fentanyl after search warrant executed in Southey

  • June 17: Ongoing search for unaccounted for swimmer at Barney's Beach near Buffalo Pound Provincial Park

Fuel thefts: reports up 65% in Sask RCMP jurisdiction in 2022. There have been 305 reports of fuel theft from January 1 to June 17, 2022 in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction, or an increase of 64.9% from the same time in 2021 (185 from the same time period in 2021). This includes reports of thefts from gas stations (fueling without paying), thefts from farm fuel tanks, thefts of jerry cans and drilling/siphoning of vehicle tanks. Analysis to date has determined gas stations accounted for the bulk of the theft reports at 73% of the total or 222 incidents.

We are encouraging all victims of fuel theft to report it to police – this allows our RCMP analysts to track and monitor crime trends across our province. Fuel theft can be reported online here.
