Nolan Bird is wanted for manslaughter in relation to the March 2022 death of a 61-year-old male. Further background is available below.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes asks public for assistance locating male wanted for manslaughter

On March 13, 2022 around 2:45 a.m. Battlefords RCMP responded to a request for police assistance at a residence on the 1600 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford. When police officers arrived, a 61-year-old male was located deceased inside the residence.

As a result of investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have charged 34-year-old Nolan Bird from Saskatoon with one count, manslaughter, Section 236(a), Criminal Code in relation to the death of David Lapointe (Information #90196204). A warrant has been issued for his arrest and Major Crimes investigators are working to locate him.

Nolan Bird is described as approximately 5'7" and 170 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes, as well as tattoos on his neck and under one eye.

Nolan Bird may be in the Saskatoon, Battlefords or Edmonton area, but this can't be confirmed.

Update: Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Investigating Suspicious Death

The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the suspicious death of 61-year-old David Lapointe.

Investigators ask anyone who lives or works in the 1600 block area of 102 Street in North Battleford check any security camera footage captured between midnight and 4 a.m. on March 13, 2022. If you have captured footage of anyone in that area during that time frame, please contact the Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720.

Investigators are trying to identify anyone who may have information about this suspicious death. If you have information, you can contact your local RCMP detachment by calling 310-RCMP. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Investigating Suspicious Death

On March 13, 2022 around 2:45 a.m. Battlefords RCMP responded to a request for police assistance at a residence on the 1600 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford. When police officers arrived, a 61-year-old male was located deceased inside the residence. He has been identified as David Lapointe from North Battleford. His family has been notified.

Based on preliminary investigation, his death is considered to be suspicious in nature. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone with information about his death. Please report information by calling Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720, 310-RCMP or you can report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-8477.

There will continue to be a police presence on 102nd Street for the next several days.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, North Battleford Detachment, North Battleford Forensic Identification Services and North Battleford General Investigation Section continue to investigate with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service. An autopsy will take on March 14, 2022 in Saskatoon.
