Search efforts underway for missing person Loyola Hartery of Portugal Cove South

The RCMP resumed search efforts this morning, Sunday June 19, for 68-year-old Loyola Hartery of Portugal Cove South. He was last seen at approximately 5:45 a.m., Friday, June 17, leaving his home on his ATV, and was reported missing on Saturday morning, June 18. See picture attached. Hartery was wearing a blue and white woods jacket, blue coverall pants and a black open-faced helmet. His ATV is a red Honda 500.

Search efforts took place throughout yesterday and last evening, involving Ground Search and Rescue, provincial air services, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and searchers from the community.

Police advise that search efforts have now resumed. Further volunteers are not required at this time and may hamper efforts if police and search agencies become concerned for volunteer safety.
