Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit lay charges following drug investigation

In March 2022, RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SADCRU) began a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation into a suspected drug dealer from Linden, Alta. who was believed to be trafficking drugs into Three Hills, Alta. and Drumheller, Alta.

On July 4, 2022, a 40-year-old individual, of Linden, was arrested with assistance from Strathmore RCMP and charged with the following:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

SADCRU seized 24 grams of suspected fentanyl and 21.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine during the investigation.

Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the 40-year-old individual was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on July 15, 2022.

At the time of her arrest, the 40-year-old individual was already facing charges for similar offences out of Drumheller and on a court ordered Release Order with conditions.

As this matter is now before the court, no updates are anticipated.
