It has been three years since 41-year-old Solomon McDonald from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation was found deceased on Provincial Road 391 near the City of Thompson, Manitoba. Thompson RCMP, with the assistance of a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team, have continued to investigate.

On March 22, 2019, when police were called to the scene at 1:05 am, it was believed McDonald had been hit by a vehicle. Through forensic investigation, officers have confirmed that McDonald was struck and killed while walking on the road. However, the vehicle did not remain at the scene of the collision. Police have conducted many interviews in relation to this investigation in order to find out what happened to McDonald and provide his family with some answers. Investigators continue to look for the vehicle as well as anyone who may have information related to the incident.

The RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information to call the Thompson RCMP at 204-677-6911, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
