Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit charge Kentville man

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, in partnership with the Kentville Police Service, has charged a Kentville man in a drug investigation.

On February 23, 2022, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU), with assistance from the Kentville Police Service, Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) and the Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia, executed a search warrant at a home on Mountain View Rd. in Kentville.

A 55-year-old Kentville man was safely arrested at the home and during the search, police seized cocaine, cash, three replica firearms, unstamped cigarettes and drug paraphernalia.

Scott Aker, 55, of Kentville, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (3 counts);
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (3 counts);
  • Possession of firearm knowing possession is unauthorized (3 counts)
  • Careless Use of Firearm;
  • Selling of Tobacco Products and Raw Leaf Tobacco;
  • Unlawful Possession of Unstamped Tobacco;
  • Possession of Tobacco on Which Tax has not Been Paid;
  • Possession of Tobacco not Bearing Prescribed Mark.

Aker was released on conditions and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on April 20, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
