A 26-year-old man was arrested by Gander RCMP for impaired driving on July 13, 2022, after the truck he was driving struck a parked vehicle and a residence in Gander.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the report. A truck had departed the roadway, striking a home and a SUV that was parked in the driveway of the residence, causing extensive damage. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. He was transported to the detachment and provided breath samples that were one and half times the legal limit.

The man was released from custody to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. His vehicle was seized and impounded and his driver's licence was suspended.

The investigation is continuing.
