On May 4, 2022, at approximately 2:55 am, West Interlake RCMP received a report advising there was an altercation between two known males at a residence in Lake Manitoba First Nation and that weapons appeared to be involved. Officers attended the scene to find nobody there, but signs of severe injury were present in the residence, as were weapons that looked like they could have been used in an assault.

Officers were aware of another residence the involved males were known to frequent. When they attended, a 29-year-old male was located with severe injuries. He was transported to Winnipeg hospital, where he remains in stable condition. He was arrested as a result of the assault, and was released for a future court date.

Police are looking for the other male involved in the altercation. Santana Paul, 22, may also be a victim as it is believed he received physical injuries from the altercation. Paul may also face charges in relation to the assault.

Paul is described as 5'8" tall, 161 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
