A woman in her sixties is deceased following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) east of the exit to Bellevue Beach on Friday.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., police received the report and attended the scene. At the time of the collision, it was raining heavily with water buildup on the highway. A car traveling westbound lost control and collided with an oncoming vehicle. Each vehicle had three occupants. A passenger in one of the cars died at the scene. The remaining occupants were all transported for medical attention, with two occupants having serious injuries.
A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was engaged and the investigation is continuing.
