News release

Yarmouth Town RCMP has charged a man with Criminal Harassment after two incidents in Yarmouth.

On December 13, 2022, as part of an ongoing investigation, Yarmouth Town RCMP received information concerning two incidents of stalking that occurred in October and December 2022, respectively. RCMP officers learned that a 64-year-old Rockville man, had stalked a 25-year-old woman on Water St. in Yarmouth in October, and the same man had stalked the same victim again on Water St. in December. RCMP officers collected surveillance footage in the area that helped provide additional evidence relating to the stalking described by the victim.

As a result, on December 14, RCMP officers with the Yarmouth Town RCMP and Yarmouth Rural RCMP, safely arrested a man at a home on Chebogue Rd. in Rockville. The man was transported the Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachment where he was held in cells, prior to being transported to the Yarmouth Provincial Court.

Allen William Desrosiers, 64, of Rockville, has been charged with Criminal Harassment (2 counts). Desrosiers was remanded into custody and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on December 19, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
