Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating homicide in Whitehorse, YT

As a result of an autopsy, Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit (MCU) investigators have determined that the suspicious death investigation previously reported on August 31, 2022 has now been deemed as a homicide. The original media release is located here. The exact cause of death will not be released.

At this time it is also suspected that the homicide investigation is related to the missing persons investigation of Chad Oliver McGill reported on August 30, 2022. The original missing person media release is available here. Mr. McGill has not been located and is still considered a missing person.

The victim has been identified as 41 year old James Richard AIKENS (Rick), from British Columbia. Further details will not be released at this time.
