Following reports of a disturbing Facebook post circulating on Friday, 45-year-old Craig Toope of Clarenville was arrested.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on February 17, Clarenville RCMP received reports of a Facebook post containing an image of a man with a firearm, with threats towards an officer at the Clarenville RCMP Detachment and employees of the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development.

Police identified the source of the Facebook post as Craig Toope. A short time later, Toope was arrested without incident in Bunyan's Cove. A search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Bunyan's Cove where a handgun-style airsoft bb gun, matching the one pictured in the post, was located and seized.
