Marystown man charged with multiple drug, firearm and stolen property offences

Members of the RCMP East District General Investigation Section and Burin Peninsula RCMP Detachment executed a search warrant authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act last evening (March 16, 2023) at a Wilson Street residence in Marystown. Thirty-three-year-old Phillip Reid was arrested and held in custody to appear in court today to face multiple drug, firearm and stolen property charges.

Items seized during the search include the following:

  • $22,785 cash
  • 351 grams cocaine
  • 260.5 pills, primarily opioids
  • 5 grams psilocybin
  • Firearm
  • Seven cell phones
  • Digital scales, a vacuum sealer and other items associated with drug trafficking
  • A large quantity of stolen property

Reid was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Hydromorphone
  • Possession of Psilocybin
  • Possession of Property/Proceeds Obtained By Crime over $5000 – two counts
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition order
  • Breach of probation
