Depot to host Mountie Maker obstacle race

For the first time ever, Depot Division will be hosting a Mountie Maker obstacle race this fall. The race is set for September 23, 2023, and registration is now live. Open to the public, everyone is welcome to register to take part in this unique race where participants will get a glimpse of what it takes to become a Mountie.

Mountie Maker and Mini Mountie obstacle race details

The Mountie Maker obstacle race was created in the spirit of the current 26-week Cadet Training Program (CTP). Participants will run 7.5 kilometres (km) and complete 26 obstacles. Participants can register individually or as a team.

  • Times: The first heat will leave at 8:00 AM. Then, heats will run continuously every 15 minutes after that. The last heat will leave at 12:00 PM (noon). Participants can choose a start time as available during the registration process.
  • Registration fee*: $65 – early bird pricing is available until June 30, 2023. As of July 1, 2023, the registration fee will be $80. *Special pricing of $35 is available for RCMP Cadets.

An additional race has been designed for kids. The Mini Mountie Maker is a 2 km obstacle race, available for kids aged 5 to 13.

  • Times: The heats for the kids will run at 8:30 AM, 8:45 AM, 9:00 AM and 9:15 AM.
  • Registration fee: $35

All participants (or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a participant) will be required to complete a waiver as part of the registration process.
