RCMP-RNC JFO West continues to target illicit drug trade; Deer Lake man arrested

Continuing with investigations focussed on local drug-trafficking on the Province's west coast, the RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West (JFO West) arrested 56-year-old Paul Nichols of Deer Lake on February 9, 2023.

Nichols was arrested at a local bar in Deer Lake on Thursday evening and was found in possession of individually packaged bags of cocaine, believed to be prepared for the purpose of trafficking. He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing.

JFO West, which includes dedicated police officers from both the RCMP and RNC, targets drug trafficking and organized crime on the west coast of the province.
