I am honoured to have been appointed as the Interim Commissioner of the RCMP.
It's a privilege for me to lead Canada's national police force. During times of change, our organization relies not only on guidance and continuity from our senior leaders, but on the continued dedication and hard work of all employees.
Canadians can be assured of my commitment to ensure effective leadership in advancing the mandate that had been given to Commissioner Lucki. Collectively, my colleagues and I will continue our efforts to modernize our organization and deliver effective policing operations while bringing about the culture change that is so important to our workforce.
I want to express my sincere thanks to Commissioner Lucki for her career of dedicated service to communities across Canada and internationally. I know I speak for all RCMP employees when I say we wish her much health and happiness in her retirement.
