On Jan. 20, 2023, Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrested a male following a traffic stop on Highway 16 in Sherwood Park, Alta. The individual was stopped for a traffic offence, and as a result, the vehicle was towed.
During the search of the vehicle, police located 60 rounds of ammunition and what is believed to be 288.18 grams of methamphetamine, 8.18 grams of cocaine, 8.16 grams of crack cocaine and Canadian currency.
The individual had been released on conditions on Jan. 14, 2023, for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property in Edmonton.
A 37-year-old individual, a resident of Camrose, Alta., was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Fail to comply
The 37-year-old individual was released from custody following a judicial interim release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park provincial court on Feb. 22, 2023.
