RCMP Southwest Traffic Services, along with Yarmouth Town RCMP, arrest three drivers for impaired driving in Yarmouth.
On February 17-18, RCMP Southwest Traffic Services and Yarmouth Town RCMP completed three vehicle check points and traffic enforcement in various areas of Yarmouth Town; resulting in over 105 vehicle contacts.
Yarmouth Town RCMP received 16 complaints of impaired driving in January. The following enforcement actions were taken as a result:
- 3 check points conducted; over 105 vehicle contacts
- 40 drivers were checked for sobriety at random
- 36 Approved Screening Device (ASD) sobriety tests were conducted
- 3 drivers were arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol
- 2 drivers issued driving suspensions for Operating a Conveyance While Having Consumed Alcohol
- 3 drivers were issued summary offence tickets for other traffic offences; open liquor, revoked drivers licence and expired licence plate.
