Janice Armstrong – Deputy Commissioner, Contract and Aboriginal Policing
The Deputy Commissioner, Contract and Aboriginal Policing provides direct support to the Commanding Officers of the eight provinces and three territories which contract policing services from the RCMP. Responsibilities include the development of national RCMP operational policies, national Aboriginal policing services and strategic policing agreements in RCMP contract jurisdictions. The Deputy Commissioner frequently meets with RCMP senior officers, government officials and law enforcement executives, and is a member of the Contract Advisory Committee, made up of representatives of contracting provinces and territories. As a member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Deputy Commissioner represents the RCMP at numerous meetings, both throughout Canada and internationally.
