RCMP traffic stop leads to large seizure of drugs and cash

On June 9, 2020, at approximately 1:35 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 1 in the RM of Headingley.

The investigation led to a search of the vehicle and officers located;

  • 1537 tablets hydromorphone
  • 246 tablets oxycodone
  • 2487 tablets morphine
  • 114 tablets methylphenidate
  • 36 tablets of codeine
  • 12g of cocaine
  • 60g of cannabis
  • Over $10,000.00 in Canadian currency
  • And a variety of other prescription and non prescription pills

The 44-year-old male driver from Calgary was arrested and will be facing numerous charges including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x6, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

RCMP Traffic Services continues to investigate.
