December 30, 2020
Hillsburn, Nova Scotia

News release

The RCMP is updating on the search for the five missing fishermen from the Chief Williams Saulis fishing vessel.

Today, the RCMP is partnering with Department of Lands and Forestry, to search the coastline from Digby Gut to Harbourville by helicopter.

The RCMP is working with the Canadian Coast Guard to resume recovery efforts on the water. The Canadian Coast Guard deployed a vessel from Dartmouth today, which is expected to arrive in Digby by Friday. This will provide a platform to enable the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team to perform sonar exploration in the area in search of the sunken vessel.

The Nova Scotia RCMP will be providing the public with updates and information as the search for the missing fishermen continues.
