Update: RCMP Traffic Services charges man for damage in construction zone on TCH near Salmonier Line

A 30-year-old Bell Island man now faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act following damage to a construction zone that happened on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) near Salmonier Line on May 15, 2020.

During the early morning hours, RCMP Traffic Services responded to a collision that caused a large amount of damage to a construction zone on the Trans-Canada Highway near Salmonier Line. The vehicle fled the area and did not report the collision to police.

RCMP Traffic Services East have since identified both the driver and the involved vehicle, a transport truck and trailer. The man faces charges of speeding, driving without due care and attention, and failing to report an accident.
