Grande Prairie RCMP charge male with sexual offences and seek public assistance

On Jan. 4, 2021, Grande Prairie RCMP received a complaint of alleged inappropriate contact of a sexual nature between an adult and two minors at a residence in Grande Prairie. RCMP attended and the youth were removed from the location. Further investigation by the Grande Prairie Special Investigations Unit (SIU) revealed the minors were allegedly offered goods in return for going to an unlicensed business at residence known as White Spot Spa. Grande Prairie SIU executed a search warrant at the residence and seized a number of items.

As a result of the investigation a 50-year-old male of Grande Prairie was arrested. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

He was released following a judicial hearing with conditions including: prohibited from attending any public park, swimming area, daycare centre, school ground, playground or community centre where persons under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present; prohibited from possessing any device capable of accessing the internet; and prohibited from being alone with any child under the age of 16 years.

He is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial court on Feb. 17, 2021.

The RCMP are continuing their investigation into this incident and are asking the public to come forward with any similar type incidents in the Grande Prairie area.
