Hopedale RCMP arrests impaired driver during check point

A 23-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving by Hopedale RCMP at a traffic check point using mandatory alcohol screening on November 21, 2021.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., the female driver came through the checkpoint driving a SUV. She failed a roadside breath test, was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where she provided breath samples that were more than one and half times the legal limit.

The woman's driver's licence was suspended. She was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court on February 1, 2022, to answer to an impaired driving charge.
