Bus passenger charged with multiple offences

Twenty-six-year-old Aaron Day is facing multiple charges following an incident on a bus in Deer Lake. On Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Deer Lake RCMP responded to a complaint concerning a passenger who refused to exit the bus after assaulting the bus driver.

Police responded and engaged with Day, who was uncooperative and continued to refuse to exit. Police then evacuated the other passengers, one of whom was also assaulted by Day. He was then arrested and taken into custody.

He appeared in Corner Brook Provincial Court yesterday, November 3, to face the following charges:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Assault on a Peace Officer
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Breach of Release Order
  • Cause of Disturbance
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Day was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on November 10, 2022.
