News release

Update: Jeffrey Costello was arrested by Bay Roberts RCMP on December 5, 2022, at a residence in Marysvale. He attends court today. RCMP NL thanks the public for their assistance.

Holyrood RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in locating 37-year-old Jeffrey Costello of Colliers, a prohibited driver, who is now wanted for charges including flight from police.

On Thursday afternoon (December 1, 2022) Holyrood RCMP and RCMP Traffic Services East attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by Costello in Holyrood. The vehicle failed to stop for police and fled at a high rate of speed. In the interest of public safety, officers did not pursue the vehicle.

Costello, who is on probation, is currently prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada, resulting from an impaired driving conviction. This past week, Holyrood RCMP has received and responded to a number of reports indicating Costello was driving while impaired.

Costello is charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Prohibited Driving
  • Flight from Police
  • Breach of Probation

A warrant for his arrest has been issued.

If you have any information on the current location of Jeffrey Costello, please contact Holyrood RCMP at 709-229-3892 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers: #SayItHere 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com or use the P3Tips app.
