Man and woman sentenced following drug trafficking investigations

A man and a woman, both from Moncton, N.B., have been sentenced to time in prison in connection with a number of drug trafficking investigations in Southeast area of the province.

On October 21, 2022, Wesley Lee Flanagan appeared in Moncton Provincial Court. He plead guilty to charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of a prohibited weapon while knowing possession is unauthorized. He was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison, minus time served. Following his release, he will be prohibited from owning weapons for life.

The charges stem from a drug trafficking investigation by the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, and a Codiac Regional RCMP drug trafficking investigation.

On November 10, Holly Alice Pellerin appeared in Moncton Provincial Court. She plead guilty to the following charges:

  • Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking hydromorphone
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking benzimidazole
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking clonazepam
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule 1 substance

She also plead guilty to seven other charges under the criminal code and controlled drugs and substances act. She was subsequently sentenced to six years in prison, minus time served. Following her release, she will be prohibited from owning firearms for life.

The charges stem from a drug trafficking investigation by the RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, two Codiac Regional RCMP drug trafficking investigations, and two Shediac RCMP investigations.

The Provincial Crime Reduction Unit includes police officers from the New Brunswick RCMP and Fredericton Police Force. These efforts focus on disrupting and dismantling the trafficking of illegal drugs in our province, targeting those causing the most harm in our communities.
