The PEI RCMP are seeking volunteer Chaplains for the Chaplaincy program.
The Chaplaincy program offers vital support for community members who have suffered a loss. Chaplains also provide RCMP officers and employees with the reassurance of spiritual strength during difficult situations. The program is a non-denominational support system.
"The Chaplaincy program provides encouragement, emotional and spiritual support in a non-judgemental manner," says Sgt. Jillian Boutilier of the PEI RCMP. "This is an essential support program for first responders and members of our community."
A Chaplain interested in the program must meet the following eligibility requirements:
· be dedicated and conscientiousness in the role of Chaplain;
· have a mature and responsible attitude;
· demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills;
· be able to recognize and accept their limitations and the parameters of the program;
· meet RCMP security screening requirements;
· reside in Prince Edward Island;
· have no business or employment conflict of interest; and
· have written permission from their current place of worship to provide volunteer Chaplaincy services to the RCMP.
If you are interested in applying to be a part of the PEI RCMP's Chaplaincy program, please send your resume outlining your qualifications, and a letter of permission from your current place of worship, to Sgt. Jillian Boutilier at jillian.boutilier@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
