On November 4, 2022, at approximately 9:25 am, RCMP responded to a report of a male pointing a loaded firearm, inside a residence on Queen Avenue, in Portage la Prairie.
Officers immediately attended and surrounded the residence. The male exited the residence and was arrested without incident.
A firearm and ammunition was seized.
A 37-year-old male from Portage la Prairie is facing charges of:
Assault with a Weapon x2
Pointing a Firearm x2
Careless Use of a Firearm
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Unsafe Storage of Firearms
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
He was released on conditions with an upcoming court date.
