Powerview RCMP respond to fatal single-vehicle rollover

On November 8, 2022, at 9:55 pm, officers from Powerview RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 11, located two kilometres east of Powerview-Pine Falls.

Officers arrived on scene and located an SUV, with two occupants, which appeared to have been driving westbound when it lost control and rolled into the ditch.

The driver, a 45-year-old male from Fort Alexander, was located sitting outside of the vehicle suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The 65-year-old male passenger, from Fort Alexander, was located inside the vehicle and pronounced deceased. Both the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on scene for Impaired Driving Causing Death and escorted to hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released back into police custody.

Powerview RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
