RCMP Southeast Traffic Services charge twenty-one drivers over long weekend

RCMP Southeast Traffic Services charged twenty-one drivers with impaired and motor vehicle act offences over the Natal Day long weekend.

Between July 29 and August 1, Southeast RCMP Traffic Services were conducting patrols across the Halifax Regional Municipality with a focus on impaired and aggressive driving. A total of twenty-one drivers were charged as follows:

  • 1 was charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance;
  • 4 were issued driving suspensions for Operating a Conveyance While Having Consumed Alcohol;
  • 1 was charged with Using a Cellular Phone While Driving;
  • 12 were charged with Speeding;
  • 1 was charged with Stunting;
  • 2 others were charged with aggressive driving offences.

RCMP Southeast Traffic Services is committed to reducing serious injury and fatal collisions by addressing aggressive driving, impaired driving, distracted driving and lack of seatbelt use.
