Three vehicles were seized and impounded by RCMP Traffic Services West following traffic stops that were conducted in the Bay of Islands area this past weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, police stopped a vehicle on the Main Road in Cox's Cove. The driver, a 71-year-old Cox's Cove man, had open alcohol in the vehicle and provided a roadside breath sample above the provincial limit. In addition, he was found operating a vehicle without registration or insurance. The man was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act and his licence was suspended for seven days.
Later in the afternoon, another vehicle was stopped in Cox's Cove. The driver, a 55-year-old Cox's Cove man, was driving with a suspended driver's licence. He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, police stopped a vehicle on Hillview Avenue in Benoit's Cove. The driver, a 29-year-old Corner Brook man, was driving with a suspended driver's licence and was operating a vehicle without registration or insurance. He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act.
