- A reminder to the public: Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTS Sask) is comprised of officers from Saskatchewan RCMP and other municipal police services including: Prince Albert Police Service, Regina Police Service, Moose Jaw Police Service, Weyburn Police Service, Estevan Police Service, and Saskatoon Police Service. The public may see CTS Sask police vehicles from any of these jurisdictions conducting roadside enforcement in their community!
Investigative Recap
- June 6: At approximately 4:30 p.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Tupper Avenue. Officers located the vehicle, which was parked. The vehicle reversed, then collided with a police vehicle. It then drove away in an erratic manner, nearly hitting several police officers. Shortly after, the vehicle was disabled and no longer driveable. The driver was arrested. Investigation determined the vehicle has been reported as stolen from Kamsack earlier in the day.
As a result, Dezaray Quewezance, 37, from Yorkton is charged with: 1 count, flight from police, Section 320.17, Criminal Code; 1 count, possession of property obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; 4 counts, assault on police officer, Section 270.01(2), Criminal Code; 1 count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code; 1 count, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18, Criminal Code; 1 count, failure to stop after an accident, Section 320.16(1), Criminal Code; 2 counts, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code, 1 count, operation while impaired, Section 320.14(1)(a), Criminal Code; and 1 count, operation over .08, Section 320.14(1)(b), Criminal Code.
She will next appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on June 13.
- June 6: Meadow Lake RCMP charges five individuals, seeks public assistance locating woman wanted on warrant in kidnapping/flight from police investigation
- June 7: Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating suspicious death on Montreal Lake Cree Nation
- June 8: Charges laid in firearms discharge incident in Cumberland house, investigations continue
- June 8: Battleford RCMP locate two wanted males, charged also with resisting arrest
- June 9: Three charged, weapons and 359 grams of cocaine seized after search warrant executed in North Battleford
- June 10: Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Prince Albert RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The adult male victim was transported to hospital by STARS for treatment of what were described as serious injuries. Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate this incident. No charges are laid.
- June 11: At 3 a.m., La Ronge RCMP located an injured male beside Highway #2 near Curtiss Street in Air Ronge. The male was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Investigation determined the male may have been struck by a vehicle and La Ronge RCMP asks anyone with information to call the detachment at 306-425-6730. The investigation continues.
- June 11: At approximately 6:15 a.m., Turtleford RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway #26, south of Turtleford. The driver, a 25-year-old male from Martensville, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified. Investigation continues with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstruction.
- June 11: At approximately 8:35 p.m., Kindersley RCMP received a report of a semi rollover on Highway #21, approximately 10 km west of Glidden. The adult male driver reported minor injuries. The semi was hauling cattle and several died at the scene. The highway was closed while the cattle were assessed and the semi was removed.
- June 12: At approximately 4:20 a.m., Nipawin RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence in Nipawin. Investigation determined that a group of individuals entered the residence, requested money and assaulted an adult male, then stole an SUV from the property and left with it. The male was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The investigation continues and Nipawin RCMP ask anyone with information to call the detachment at 306-862-6270.
